MICANOPY, Fla. (WCJB) – On the deadline to respond to a right-to-work lawsuit filed on behalf of a stripper from Micanopy, state attorneys say the complaint should be dismissed.
They refuted 11 claims made in the suit by 19-year-old Serenity Bushey and three adult establishments.
State lawyers argued the law does not unfairly restrict First Amendment freedoms any more than is essential to “Further an important government interest.”
In this case, they say that is combating human trafficking.
