Anderson O. “Andy” Dotson III has been appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court to serve as chief disciplinary counsel for the Louisiana attorney Disciplinary Board.
Dotson replaces Charles B. Plattsmier, who recently retired after 28 years as chief disciplinary counsel for the state.
Dotson worked at Phelps Dunbar for nine years before heading to the Parish attorney‘s Office for the city of Baton Rouge/East Baton Rouge Parish. He served as chief city prosecutor from 2015 to 2019 and parish attorney from 2019 to 2024.
He earned a bachelor’s from LSU and a law degree, magna cum laude, from the Southern University Law Center. Dotson has been a part-time adjunct professor at Southern and LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
