JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi Supreme Court has appointed a local judge and reappointed a local attorney to the 27-member group who hears complaints against lawyers and disciplines them for misconduct.
Circuit Judge Michelle Easterling of Clay County is one of three new members of the Bar Complaint Tribunal.
She joins attorney Robert Quimby of Tupelo, who was reappointed to the tribunal by the state’s highest court.
Easterling was elected to the bench in 2022 after serving nearly two decades as a prosecutor for Clay County and West Point.
Quimby is a former municipal judge in Hernando who works as an attorney for the Mitchell McNutt law firm.
Their three-year term will start on January 1.
Meanwhile, Circuit Judge Joseph Loper Junior of Ackerman will come off of the tribunal at the end of the year after two terms.
