RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 30, 2023) — Canon Squires, 55, of Menifee, died in a motorcycle accident Saturday with another vehicle on Bundy Canyon Road.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 4:17 p.m. on Jan. 28th at Bundy Canyon Road and Waldon Road, according to a Menifee Police Department.
Canon Squires was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle behind a Ford pickup truck, according to a report by Menifee 247. The two vehicles were traveling westbound on Bundy Canyon Road. The truck reportedly slowed down to make a left-hand turn and the motorcyclist attempted to pass the pickup on its left side. That’s when the truck began to make its left turn.
The motorcycle crashed into the left side of the Ford pickup truck and was thrown off the bike. Sadly, the rider suffered major injuries and died at 4:29 p.m. on scene, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner. The coroner identified the rider as Canon Squires.
Meanwhile, the Ford driver stopped his vehicle and is cooperating with investigators. At this time, authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs are a factor in the collision.
