USD School of Law Alumna Molly Teas ’17 (BA) ’20 (JD) Named “Outstanding New attorney” by San Diego Defense Lawyers

SAN DIEGO (December 20, 2023) – University of San Diego (USD) School of Law alumna Molly Teas ’17 (BA) ’20 (JD) has been named “Outstanding New attorney” by San Diego Defense Lawyers (SDDL). This prestigious award is presented annually to one outstanding defense attorney in recognition of their success and overall achievements in law. SDDL is an organization of lawyers engaged in the defense of civil litigants.
Teas will receive the award at the SDDL’s 39th Annual Installation Gala at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine on Saturday, January 27, 2024, where she will also be installed as a new member of the Board of Directors.
Teas, an attorney at Higgs Fletcher & Mack, primarily focuses on the transportation industry, where she defends trucking and rideshare companies in personal injury litigation. She also has experience in premises and product liability defense as well as representing individuals in trust litigation. Additionally, Teas is admitted to the Intertribal Court of Southern California where she defends local federally recognized Indian tribes in injury and premises liability cases.

Teas joined HFM as an associate attorney in 2021. During law school, Teas was awarded the “Best Trial Lawyer” by the Association of Business Trial Lawyers for her performance in the organization’s mock trial competition. She is the recipient of the “James A. D’Angelo Outstanding Child Advocate Award” for her work on human trafficking research for USD’s Children’s Advocacy Clinic.
