RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 30, 2023) — Judith Armijo, 75, of Menifee, died and another woman was hurt Sunday morning in a crash at Menifee Road and Watson Road in Menifee.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 9:51 a.m. on Jan. 29th, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
Judith Armijo was driving a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta sedan and traveling eastbound on Watson Road, Menifee 247 reports. When she reached Menifee Road she stopped at the stop sign, but then pulled onto Menifee Road into the path of a southbound 2017 Hyundai Elantra sedan.
The Hyundai did not have a stop sign and was traveling about 50 to 60 mph when it crashed into the Volkswagen. The Volkswagen went off the roadway and landed in a ditch. Sadly, its driver suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Hyundai suffered undisclosed injuries in the crash. Paramedics transported the woman in her 70s to Inland Valley Medical Center.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Menifee crash.
